A couple of months ago I bought a LG Smart TV. Naturally, I immediately signed up for LG Smart World, connected via TV and installed several applications safely. Having played with a new toy, I switched to regular use.
Since then, there have been several firmware updates, which the TV kindly warned me about, and I always agreed to an update. After one of them, authorization has flown into Smart World. Trying to connect again, I realized that the account password has sunk into oblivion. It does not matter - I thought, because there is a password recovery. But it was not so easy.
By clicking on the link "Forgot your password." I saw a form with four fields: login / E-mail, first name, last name and date of birth. And all four fields were required! It should be said here that on numerous forums, portals and other useful resources I try not to unnecessarily use my real data. Therefore, I absolutely do not remember what I indicated during registration. In the mailbox, it was possible to dig out a letter with the name and surname, but the date of birth could not be recovered.
Without losing hope, I decided to turn in support. I sent a message through the feedback form and waited. Two days later I received an answer, puzzling me:
')
Good day!
Unfortunately, we do not administer the site.
I believe that in your case it will be easier to register a new account, while using another mailbox. You can also register a new mailbox using the “create an email address” tab when registering a new account from your TV.
Respectfully,
Andrey D.
And the postscript “This letter was created automatically. There is no need to answer it. ” Point! Forget about your account, throw away all the applications you bought, create a new E-mail and start a new life! And all because some Indian who rivets the web interface at an outsourcing, for some reason, it occurred to him that the date of birth is extremely important information for recovering the password.
Dear LG employees, I am sure you have a lot on Habré. I really like your products, but such “flaws” do not at all contribute to user loyalty. After all, the decision is elementary. Leave only the E-mail field and the “Send” button on the password recovery form. Everything, the problem has disappeared. And of course, I would like more participation from the support service.
