Application Excellence Labs are back with a new name and in a new format on DevCon 2013

Application Excellence Labs' mega-popular activity returns under the new name of the Windows Store App Labs (WSAL) and with new features! The first participants will be able to take part in the conference DevCon 2013 .

As part of the Windows Store App Labs (WSAL), which will be held as part of the hackathon, DevCon 2013 conference participants will have a unique opportunity to test their Windows 8 application on devices of various form factors and get an engineer consultation.

Windows Store App Labs

What is WSAL lab work? This is a unique opportunity to test your Windows Store application on devices of various form factors and get advice from an engineer.

We want to have really high-quality applications in the Windows Store - and we want to help you make those. To do this, we organize laboratory work, in which you can discuss your application with our engineer (in Russian!), Receive expert feedback and, as a result, come to understand how to make an excellent application from a good application.
In the course of laboratory work you can:

• Test the application in various scenarios and on various devices, including on the tablet.
• Understand how to improve the design and layout of your application in accordance with the Modern UI style.
• Get recommendations on the layout and use of the menu, flayout, “livening” of tiles.
• Deal with an example of the implementation of contracts. Search, Share, Settings.
• Discuss the monetization strategy of the application.
• Get answers to technical questions.

Laboratory WSAL will be held at DevCon 2013 as part of the hackathon on May 29th. Seats are limited, prior registration is required.

At the entrance
You must have a running Windows Store application that has undergone internal certification by means of the Windows App Certification Kit (installed with Visual Studio or through the Windows SDK). The application is not required to fully pass all tests, however, testing is necessary.

At the exit
You can test your application on devices of various form factors and get recommendations on how to improve your application.

All confirmed DevCon 2013 participants will be sent a link to register for WSAL.
