Almost everyone imagines what a DDoS attack is. But it is better to see once than hear a hundred times. The VideoLAN site has recently undergone a rather unusual DDoS attack. Although the intensity of the requests was not very high - from 400 to 1600 requests per second, the botnet managed to create a very large load on the server, since the zombie computers didn’t just go to one of the site’s pages, but downloaded the 22 Mbyte VLC-player distribution kit. The peak load on the servers reached 292 gigabits per second.
