Another Epson Moverio BT-100 review

Hello, Habra residents. I want to share my impressions about using Epson Moverio BT-100 3D video glasses. Some of you have already read the review telegamochka , and those who will say “bayan” will be right! But there are already two of us, and therefore two opinions .

I want to tell more about how this works, rather than why, and I want to speculate a little about what all this will lead to - from Epson Moverio to Google Glass.
')
As usual, I suggest to get acquainted with the video review, so that when reading the text, everything is clear:

Now let's continue:

In order to talk, and most importantly talk about things like Moverio, you need to compare it with something. My first experience with video points was Carl Zeiss Cinemizer oled 3D ( review ). These are custom points for the “rich” who fly in airplanes and drive on the flight “Moscow-Berlin-Paris” (I apologize to the rich for somehow offended them, you are cool). These glasses are easy to use, they have a cool design and a good assembly. But as for the video, here Carl Zeiss made a blunder, and if specified, a slip. The resolution, to put it mildly, is not very good - 870 by 500 points, and let “ this is normal for video glasses, ” but looking at the Galaxy S4 lying in front of me now I can say the opposite .

Epson approached the question a little more seriously. First, at a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, Moverio gives a much more pleasing image than Carl Zeiss. Secondly, the image is larger: in general, the manufacturer says that the user feels that he is in front of an 80-inch TV. I can not agree, I would compare the resulting image with a 40-inch TV.

In addition, Moverio is able to play 3D, although I am still not used to this technology and I try to attend good modern films exclusively during 2D-picture sessions.

Android

No matter how strange it may sound, but Moverio works under Android 2.2. The control takes place with the help of a special remote with a touch pad (perceives 1 touch), how it works can be understood from the video.

In this console, and hides the entire filling Moverio. Here is the battery, which allows the glasses to work for about 5 hours without recharging.

There are also connectors for a flash card and headphones, there is a MicroUSB and a connector for connecting a charger.

Moverio has almost no internal memory.

In fact, working with the remote is not very convenient. It's good that there is a joystick, as the touchpad is not very responsive to touch, although you get used to it over time.

Inside, Moverio has a browser and several Android applications. The most interesting thing is that you can install Amazone Store here and support for APK files is also present here. For example, I launched Angry Birds on glasses (it works without brakes).

General sensations

Glasses, albeit cumbersome, but convenient to work with them. They sit perfectly on the head and the ears with the nose get tired after 2 hours. This is a good result. The number of working hours of the battery also pleases - 5 hours. In any case, many will use glasses to watch only movies. Someone will go to the browser.

It seems to me that Moverio is a great push into the future. Naturally, I can’t wait to try out Google Glass, and then it will be possible to draw conclusions about what the world will be like in a couple of years. Moverio fits perfectly in our time, all the advanced technologies have been invested in it, and this is really something unusual that can fit into our imagination.
