Madrid startup Geeksphone today launched the sale of the first phones for developers on Firefox OS - Keon models for $ 119 and more powerful Peak for $ 194 (without reference to the operator). According
to TechCrunch, these are basically the first devices with Firefox OS on board, and both phones were sold out a few hours after the start of sales.
Keon and Peak models are essentially test devices released to give developers the opportunity to see what they can do with the new open mobile platform. A big launch is scheduled for June of this year, when phones on Firefox OS will begin to be sold in Spain, Brazil, Portugal and Venezuela.
The devices from Geeksphone are modest in terms of hardware specifications: for example, the 119-dollar Keon uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon gigahertz processor, supports 3G and EDGE, has a 3.5-inch HVGA screen and a 3-megapixel camera. It has 512 MB of RAM and 4 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via MicroSD.

The 194-dollar Peak uses a 1.2-gigahertz dual-core Snapdragon S4, a 4.3-inch IPS display with qHD resolution, an 8-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front camera, and the rest is not very different from Keon.
Before the launch, it was reported that Geeksphone had planned to sell about five thousand phones a day, and now the company says that they are working on the resumption of sales and are hoping to release a new batch to the market by Friday.
Updated April 24: A company representative informed me in a letter that demand exceeded all expectations, but was unable to give any figures. Meanwhile, Forbes
writes about a thousand devices sold, although before the start of sales
it was reported that Geeksphone expects to sell 5 thousand per day.
