Amazon officially opened a digital video store.
This week is expected to open online store iTunes for the sale of digital video. As you know, Apple iTunes is the largest online music store. Now they want to develop success in a more promising video market.
But here they are already ahead of the competitor. A few days before the iTunes premiere, Amazon opened its own Unbox video store and thus dragged some of the press attention to itself.
Video files from the store can be downloaded through a special Unbox Video program (it works only under XP). If you pay for the full cost of the movie, the DRM-protected file will remain on your computer, and if you pay only for “hire,” it will self-destruct 24 hours after it starts watching.

The cost of films and television series depends heavily on their novelty and ranges from about $ 2 to $ 17 per file (the price is determined by the film studios, so it should be about the same in the iTunes store). File sizes are usually two to three gigabytes. The range of the store is still very limited. The archive contains about 1300 movies and 350 TV shows.
