The Speech Technology Center provides speech bases for creating a prototype speech recognition system.

In order to find talented specialists ready to devote themselves to the development of speech technologies in Russia, the Speech Technology Center (MDG) provides its own speech bases. They contain not just sound files with text, but also a time markup made by MDG specialists.

The lack of bases significantly limits researchers in working on Russian speech recognition algorithms, as the collection and creation of a speech base is a very time-consuming work that can hardly be done by independent scientists and start-ups. Using the data provided by the MDGs, savvy researchers will be able to quite easily develop a prototype system for recognition of continuous (!) Speech and submit it to the Native 2013 contest, which is conducted by the MDGs together with ITMO and with the technical support of the Marketing to Innovation business network Education, Science ”, created on the basis of ITMO.

The main prize for the winner will be a job offer - the opportunity to work as part of the MDG development team at the head office in St. Petersburg. In addition, the winner will receive a cash bonus of 100,000 rubles. Participants who took second and third places will also be able to count on working in the company and on valuable prizes - iPhone 5 and iPad 4.
