A rather interesting conversation between Eric Schmidt and Julian Assange got on the Web, being published on Wikileaks.org. This is a text transcript of the audio recording, the conversation itself took place back in 2011. As mentioned above, the conversation went out long enough, five hours - this is not “hello” and “bye” to you. The conversation is interesting because it gives an idea of the views on some issues of network security and other problems of Schmidt and Assange.
The conversation begins with a discussion of Bitcoin, Schmidt’s negative experiences with Delta Air Lines and other issues. After some time, the issues discussed already concerned exclusively Wikileaks and the principles of operation of this resource. For example, Assange reported that his colleagues and he are not able to filter out all the published information, that even if you want to choose what to publish, it is impossible.

In addition, Assange answered the questions of Schmidt about published government documents, dominated mainly by documents of Western politicians / organizations. When asked why Wikileaks does not publish information relating to the African junta and dictators, Assange replied that there is some information, but for the most part these documents are not in English. Plus, many government organizations in Africa are simply not connected to the Web. Of course, it makes it difficult to get all sorts of documents.
I repeat, the conversation is interesting in that it is “visible” in the conversation of a living person, and not an abstracted figure filtered by the media. A complete recording of the conversation can be found
