The government of Singapore has approved and adopted a new plan for the development of the country's network infrastructure. According to this plan, by 2010, the Next Generation National Broadband Network (the national next-generation broadband network) will be put into operation in Singapore, which will provide subscribers with the ability to connect to the Internet at a speed of 100 Mbps.
True, by 2010 this service will be available only for specialized purposes and for those areas where high connection speed is needed first (according to the Singapore government, of course). These are HD video conferencing, network computing, and school and university networks. But in 2015, the network will work at full capacity: high-speed Internet will provide every inhabitant.
