On Tuesday, Microsoft released a scheduled batch of updates, which we
wrote about in our blog. In particular, they talked about updating
MS13-036 , which covers four vulnerabilities in kernel-mode drivers and concerns such components as the Win32 subsystem drivers - win32k.sys (CVE-2013-1283, CVE-2013-1291, CVE-2013-1292 ) and the NTFS file system driver ntfs.sys (CVE-2013-1293). Today, the company has released a
note recommending that you stop installing this update if you haven’t installed it yet and remove it if you have already installed it. At the very least, the update was withdrawn from the download center and with subsequent updates, it will not be delivered to users yet. It is about incompatibility with some third-party Security / AV-products and can lead to BSOD in the early stages of loading the OS.
2823324, which was in the wake of a third party software, can cause system errors. As a precaution, we’ve stopped pushing 2823324.
The user, as a result of installing the update, may encounter the following BSOD:
STOP: c000021a {Fatal System Error}
The Session Manager Initialization system process terminated unexpectedly with a status of 0xC000003a (0x00000000 0x00000000).
The system has shutdown.
