Flowers change color

The liquid in which the flowers are found is a mixture of ether and ammonia solution (ammonia). Both of these substances are volatile. Ammonia vapors create an alkaline environment in the flower petals. At the same time, vapors of ether are extracted (extracted) from plant cells. Most vegetable dyes are natural indicators, that is, substances that change color depending on the environment in which they fall (acidic, neutral, alkaline). So in our case, once in alkaline medium, the dyes changed color. Ordinary tea behaves in a similar way when a lemon is put into it: it brightens, that is, changes color in an acidic environment. Most of the violet and pink flowers in an alkaline medium become bright green in color, the white ones turn yellow, and the autumn red leaves instantly turn green.
