Intel announced the new Thunderbolt: 2 times faster speed and 4k video support
At the NAB conference in Las Vegas, Intel announced a new version of the Thunderbolt interface. The new generation of this technology (codename - Falcon Ridge) allows you to transfer data at speeds up to 20 Gbit / s in both directions, against 10 Gbit / s in the previous version. In addition, the company promises the ability to simultaneously transmit and broadcast video with a resolution of 4k. Importantly, the novelty will be backward compatible with current cables and connectors. Intel also shared information about what is working on new Thunderbolt controllers (Redwood Ridge), which will be built into future versions of fourth-generation Core processors. It is promised that this technology will appear on the mass market as early as 2014.
