DIY wall patch panel

At the stage of refining the home laboratory, it became necessary to have RJ45 sockets in the amount of at least 10 pieces. I didn’t want to buy a bunch of overhead sockets, and the finished wall patch panels didn’t please them either with the appearance or the installation method. The idea was born to solve the problem independently. It turned out such a thing

Who cares how it turned out - I ask under the cat

Actually in the bins of the homeland was found a standard patch panel (quite cheap, by the way).

In the patch panel there are 4 blocks of 6 outlets, each such block can be removed.

I think the idea is clear further:

1. We take a plastic box of suitable size (I took 60x40).
2. Cut a rectangular hole of the required size in the housing lid, quickly and simply dremel, longer and more difficult with a knife.

3. Insert the module into the box cover, hammer the cables.

4. Get the result.

It is clear that it would be possible to cram the patch panel entirely into the box, but this is quite a heavy load on the box itself and I also don’t need such a density of ports at one point, and 4 blocks were separated along the entire table length, which is more convenient (personally for me).
