Internet Explorer 6.0 was released to the public
on August 27, 2001 . It's
no secret that it contains a
large number of rendering errors ,
poorly supported standards , poor in terms of security and convenience.
For example, any site owner can easily organize an imperceptible collection of the contents of the clipboard of all those site visitors who use IE6.
Layout and scripting, taking into account the "features" of IE6 takes a lot of extra time and effort.
Of course, the share of users of this version has now begun to decline:

(spylog data)
')
But despite this, it is hard to come to terms with the prevalence of this software. Therefore, we decided to act. Using the holes and existing exploits, we could even simply install a Trojan user, who would download the new version of IE and delete the old one.
However, we decided to go a more reasonable way and try to honestly tell visitors about the shortcomings of IE6, as well as about the existence of IE7 and its alternatives. The idea is to create a simple and concise
page , which describes the existence of other browsers and a more recent IE7.
How will visitors see this page? One of the most successful options seems to us to use a special toolbar, which will be shown to IE6 users on the websites participating in the action.

No doubt, more radical ways are possible, including the redirect of all IE6 users.
The site provides
simple instructions for installing toolbar and other ways to upgrade to upgradebrowser.org.
