Something absolutely futuristic, similar to the first shots from the "Terminator" with killer robots (only there are not enough laser guns), is shown in the video below.
Mett Denton, the head of Micromagic Systems, completed work on his four-year project - an enormous hexapod robot driven by a turbo-diesel engine and with a Linux computer on board. ')
The massive robot, codenamed Mantis, weighs almost two tons (1900 kg), measures 2.8 meters wide and is driven by a 2.2-liter Perkins turbo-diesel engine. To control the hexapod, a number of different sensors are provided - force, rotation sensors, clinometers, and the power of the limbs is determined by 18 hydraulic actuators. The onboard Linux computer is equipped with specially written HexEngine software. The movement of the robot can not be called fast (rather, on the contrary), but it is difficult to refuse to be fundamental.
