Google Knol - Wikipedia replacement?

Google told about its new service Knol, which will have to replace the now popular service Wikipedia.

At the moment, the service is being tested and is available only by invite, but the main differences from Wikipedia are already known:

Material rating
Payment of fees to authors (% of advertising)
The presence of "experts on the topic"
