Today I will tell you about SoundMAGIC's little-known headphones in the CIS, namely the ES18 and PL11 models that belong to the lowest price range (up to $ 20). Both models belong to the class of dynamic headphones of the plug-in type and are designed to replace the complete headphones of the phone, player or take an empty seat at all.

â–ş Packing and packaging
Headphones are supplied in white cardboard boxes. In the upper part there is a window, inside of which there are headphones on a kind of podium, and in the lower part there are accessories.

On the right side are the possible options for color design.

Behind - the characteristics, as well as a sticker with a scratch-coating, erasing that, we get an eighteen-digit verification code. To verify the originality of the headphones, enter it (without spaces) on the official website of the company in the
Security check section. As a result, you should receive confirmation of the authenticity of products and thanks for the purchase. :)

The set of delivery for both headphones is quite modest, while for
ES18 it is completely spartan. In addition to the headphones themselves and the medium-sized nozzles already on them, the box contains a case and additional large and small silicone inserts.

In addition to all of the above,
PL11 has a clip that can perform at least two useful functions, which I will discuss later.

The package bundle is directly proportional to the price, but in general, everything that is most needed is, with the exception of the clips from the SoundMAGIC ES18.
â–ş Appearance
ES18 does not stand out in terms of design, they are made of black plastic, with a tiny metal insert in the middle. Available in 3 color options: red, green and orange. The body itself has the shape of a barrel.

The sound system, like the entire body, is plastic, covered with a metal grid. On the other hand is the company logo, headphone model, as well as the inscriptions L and R.

The cable along the entire length consists of a double wire. Runner and splitter have the same shape, only the latter is fixed with glue and raises doubts in terms of reliability.
PL11 looks more attractive. The main part of the body consists of metal, which is a distinctive feature of this model and can be made in gray, gold, red or blue.

Plastic sound guards, covered with metal mesh. On the other hand, the tails are made of hard rubber, on which the markings L and R are located. Because the marking is made by squeezing on the tails and blends in with the color of rubber, it is simply impossible to distinguish the right earpiece from the left one at night.

In this model, the main part of the cable is rubber-sheathed, and the splitter looks more impressive.

The plugs of both models are similar, they are “G” -shaped, gilded. This is convenient if the connector on your phone / player is located on the side.

â–ş Ease of wearing
Both models of headphones fit perfectly in the ears, except that in the winter, under the cap, it will be more convenient to wear the SoundMAGIC ES18, since their body length (with average attachments) is 20 mm, while in PL11 this figure is 24 m. millimeters.

The clip that comes with the PL11, in addition to its standard functions, can act as a tie for the wire, as a result, the headphones are not confused during transportation.

Noise isolation is average. And if it’s enough for the street, I don’t advise you to meddle with either one or the second headphones. Microphone effect is present, but less pronounced in PL11 due to the “correct” cable structure.

â–ş Sound
I used the following equipment to assess the sound quality: SanDisk Sansa Clip + MP3 player,
FiiO E10 DAC / amplifier,
Jiayu G2 smartphone and lossless recordings.

The sound presented in the review of models of headphones is about the same. In both, emphasis is placed on the lower frequencies, the middle ones are fairly well expressed, but the high ones sound dull. Headphones are not friendly with fast genres (Metallica in all its glory is not to listen) and do not digest a large number of musical instruments, but can easily cope with various types of quiet music, thanks to pleasant and well-defined bass, as well as clean mids.

Thanks to the high sensitivity and low resistance, the headphones can easily play even with a very weak source. In quite noisy places, I have 8-9 divisions (out of 14) of the volume level on my smartphone. More is meaningless, since the sound turns to mush, and it’s bad for the ears.
â–ş Results
SoundMAGIC E18 and PL11 are inexpensive in-channel dynamic headphones that noticeably “outplay” their price. They are great for watching movies, podcasts or light music genres. Considering the meager difference in price, I advise you to take the PL11 model due to a more interesting design, metal in the case, better wire and the presence of clips, but remember, because of the large length, they will be inconvenient to wear under the heading, while ES18 are deprived of it lack of.
â–ş Cost
In Ukraine, headphones can be purchased from the official SoundMAGIC distributor of
Era in ear . Model
ES18 will cost you $ 15, and
PL11 $ 19. Where to buy in Russia - I will not tell you, but nobody has yet canceled Ebay or Aliexpress.
