Mozilla offers to create "heavy" 3D-games for the web on their new engine
Today, Mozilla, together with the game studio Epic Games, has taken the initiative to create visually appealing 3D games that should not be inferior to dextrous counterparts, and run directly in the browser.
In fact, we are talking about transferring to the web the experience of creating high-quality, high-performance gaming applications that need to be executed by the updated JavaScript engine OdinMonkey , which was recently included in the nightly builds of FireFox and the speed of code execution on Asm.js which is 10 times exceeds similar in other browsers. And this is all without third-party plug-ins like Flash or Silverlight - pure JavaScript.
The visual experience that a gamer should get on the Internet, playing a 3D game, is proposed to be evaluated on the video below - this is what the Unreal Engine 3 port made by the Epic Games and Mozilla engineers looks like: ')
The second advantage, besides speed, is the ability to create games for mobile platforms (Firefox OS?) Using the same tools as for the desktop. Mozilla is currently collaborating in this area with Disney, Electronics Art and ZeptoLab to improve the user experience of the existing game database of these manufacturers.
Developers are already offered to post their new games and applications in the Firefox Marketplace.
