New Sx700 Ethernet Switch Series

Huawei's high-performance Quidway S family switches, designed for enterprise networks of various sizes, are designed for use at the access, aggregation and campus core levels, as well as for installation in modern virtualized data centers.

These devices, characterized by advanced functionality and energy efficiency, have common architectural and structural components, including the VRP (Versatile Routing Platform) operating system, the command line interface, and power modules. The Huawei VRP universal routing platform software meets the requirements for accessing a variety of services on Ethernet networks. The Sx700 uses energy-saving integrated circuits to ensure uniform heat dissipation. This allows you to do without fans, make the device more reliable and economical. Free ports go into sleep mode, reducing power consumption.

Characteristic features of this family of models include support for IPv4 / IPv6 protocols, which allows them to be used in IPv4 networks, IPv6 networks or networks that use both protocols, non-blocking switching mode, the ability to form stacks, hot backup of the main components, ease of installation and operation, availability versions with PoE and PoE +.

The Quidway Sx700 switch line includes devices of the S1700, S2700, S3700, S5700, S6700, S7700 and S9700 series. Characteristic features of this equipment include advanced security features that include protection against DoS attacks; DHCP snooping based on the analysis of MAC and IP addresses, lease times for IP addresses, VLAN IDs and user access interfaces; protection against attacks using the ARP protocol; centralized MAC address authentication and 802.1x authentication.

To ensure the quality of service (QoS), traffic is classified using information contained in packets, such as 5-tuple, IP-preference, ToS, DSCP, type of IP protocol, type of ICMP, source port TCP, VLAN ID, type of protocol Ethernet, class of service CoS.

Other protocols and features implemented by Quidway S switches include Enhanced Trunk channel duplication technology; Smart Ethernet Protection Protocol; ring network protocol used on the Ethernet link layer; forming a group of devices based on the VRRP protocol.

To manage the switches and their administration, the SNMP v1 / v2 / v3 protocols, the program line interface, and the Web NMS, Telnet, and HGMP protocols are used. There are automatic configuration mode, support for plug-and-play functionality, deployment using a USB flash drive and remote upgrade.

The Intelligent Stack feature (iStack) allows you to combine several Sx700 switches into a stack that works as a single virtual switch and is managed by a single IP address. In this case, the backup switch assumes the load when the main switch fails, minimizing the interruption of services. iStack increases scalability, improves network reliability and simplifies its architecture.

These and many other features make it possible to use the Huawei Quidway Sx700 series switches as universal building blocks for creating various configurations of new generation networks that meet the requirements of the IT infrastructure of modern enterprises.

Access Switches S1700

S1700 Series devices are access switches with 8-48 Gigabit ports supporting optical SFP modules. Their hardware provides high performance, support for a wide range of functions and capabilities to create a secure, reliable and high-speed network. Easy to install and maintain, the S1700 switch is suitable for building networks of small and medium enterprises, can be used in Internet cafes, in hotels and schools.

S2700 Series Switches: Flexible Service Management

The S2700 series switches also include 8, 16, 24, and 48 port models. They are applicable for various scenarios of building a corporate network, simplify installation and maintenance. With flexible VLAN deployments, versatile security and QoS policies, and energy-efficient technologies, the S2700 switches enable corporate customers to build the next generation network. These switches provide 2.7-5.4 million packets per second.

The S2700 1U chassis supports automatic configuration and Plug-and-Play technology. As in the S1700 series, the absence of fans reduces the number of mechanical failures and protects the device from damage caused by condensation of moisture and dust, reducing the amount of maintenance work by 53%.

For flexible service management, port management, and resource scheduling, you can apply ACL rules to a VLAN. The S2700 supports port-based VLAN and MAC address allocation, which is convenient to use in networks with frequent user movements or with high security requirements.

To implement QoS policies, the S2700 switches support sophisticated traffic classification based on VLAN ID, IP, source MAC / IP addresses, destination MAC / IP addresses, priority, or packet port number. By limiting traffic speed based on the results of traffic classification, the S2700 performs transmission at the speed of a line on each of the ports to provide high quality voice, video, and data services.

Aggregation Level Switches S3700

The S3700 is a third-level switch that provides efficient access and aggregation of traffic across enterprise networks. With flexibility in deploying virtual VLANs, comprehensive routing functions, and the ability to migrate to IPv6, the S3700 allows enterprises to create a new generation of IT infrastructure. To increase reliability, the S3700 uses stack management technologies, VRRP and RRPP protocols.

The S3700 switches feature robust architecture along with extensive scalability and compatibility. They can be embedded in an existing network to protect customers' investments and deploy new services. These switches in the 1U package are delivered in versions with second-level functions and basic functions of the third level, versions with support for complex routing protocols and an extended set of functions, as well as in versions with a large number of specifications of MAC addresses, routes, and elements of a multicast table.

The S3700 supports the function of replicating multicast packets between VLANs on
link speeds, uniform distribution of multicast traffic between interfaces on a trunk, and managed multicast for IPTV and other multicast services.

Switches perform complex traffic classification based on IP packet information, provide a traffic limiting function (CAR) based on
flows with two boundary values ​​and three-color marking. Each port supports eight queues and a wide range of queue dispatch algorithms, such as WRR, DRR, SP, WRR + SP, and DRR + SP. S5700 Switches: Powerful Service Support

Quidway S5700 is a new generation of switches that meet the requirements of providing
broadband access and multiservice Ethernet networks. These devices can be used as access switches or aggregations in medium-sized enterprise networks, as Gigabit access switches in the data center for Internet hosting, or in the virtualization of workstations (VDI).

To support such a wide range of applications, the S5700 series models, made in 1U enclosures, come in several versions. The S5700 provides high switching capacity, high GbE port density and aggregating connections at 10 Gbps. Their maximum performance is 132 million packages / s.

Switches of the standard S5700-SI version operate at the second network level, perform the basic functions of the third level, and can, as a rule, be used in simple networks and small campus systems at the aggregation level. S5700-EI enhanced version devices that support the full range of L3 routing features are also designed to be installed in cores of small campus networks.

The S5700-HI enhanced version switches, which provide the implementation of MPLS VPN services, are used to build virtualized campus networks. They provide high performance and advanced functionality of access levels and aggregation of campus networks and allow you to form the core of a small enterprise network.

In the S5710-EI model, up to eight 10 GbE ports and up to 64 ports are installed - GbE. The S5710-HI switches provide users with up to 96 GbE ports, as well as up to eight and four ports 10 and 40 GbE, respectively.

In addition, they support PoE and PoE +, and there is an energy-saving mode for PoE ports, as well as the ability for users to configure the mode and time of the PoE function for each port.

To support services, the S5700 switches provide IGMP v1 / v2 / v3 snooping, IGMP filtering, IGMP fast leave, and IGMP proxy functions. Like the S3700 series, the S5700 switches support the multicast packet replication feature.

The Quidway S7700 and S6700 series high-performance intelligent routing switches are capable of aggregating Gigabit channels and transferring 10GbE traffic to devices of the following network layers in large campus networks, can be used to aggregate server traffic into the data center, and be installed as central nodes of medium data centers and relatively small campus networks. The switches of these series meet the increased requirements for the performance and functionality of the aggregation devices of corporate networks in the context of the deployment of cloud structures and a noticeable increase in the volume of media traffic.

The S7700 series consists of the S7703, S7706 and S7712 modular switches with a capacity from 540 to 1320 million packets / s and a maximum backplane capacity of 4.8 Tbit / s. Along with the redundancy of the main components, these devices are equipped with hardware fault detection. Their modules include, in addition to the access controllers of wireless networks, EPON cards, which simplify the maintenance of passive optical networks.

The 1U switches with fixed configuration ports of the Quidway S6700 series include models with 48 and 24 1 GbE SFP / 10 GbE SFP + ports, USB ports, as well as two connectors for connecting AC power sources. Their performance is 358 and 715 million packets / s, and the total switching capacity - 480 and 960 Gbit / s, respectively. Both models support the dual stack of IPv4 / IPv6 protocols.

S9700 Switches: Corporate Network Core

Quadway S9700 series terabit routing modular switches are designed for the central segments of high-performance, scalable, managed corporate networks. Along with this, they are able to form the fault-tolerant core of communication infrastructures of large-scale virtualized data centers and can be used to create high-performance network access structures.

Devices of this series (models S9703, S9706, S9712) with a capacity from 1440 to 5760 million packages / s provide for the installation of line cards with ports 40 and 100 Gbit / s. Scaling of performance and reliability is also achieved through clustering at the level of switching factories with a bandwidth capacity of 256 Gbit / s and by forming stacks of remotely spaced switches.

S9700 devices support IPv4 / IPv6 / MPLS switching with data link speed, the formation of second and third level distributed VPN MPLS, as well as functions and technologies that ensure continuity of service, including ISSU, IP FRR, BFD, NSF, VRRP and E-Trunk .
