Flash's main defender left Adobe for Apple

Adobe Technical Director Kevin Lynch went to work at Apple - a company that blocked Flash on the iPhone and probably accelerated the decline in popularity of this technology, writes TechCrunch. Lynch himself is known for having written an emotional article on Flash for the Adobe blog, although he has recently been working on more promising projects at Adobe.

Lynch was instrumental in promoting the Adobe Creative Cloud cloud service, and also led the development of the Adobe Marketing Cloud. Both products helped Adobe move from box sales to cloud-based offers with a SaaS-based approach to sales. In fact, Lynch managed to turn Adobe into a cloud-based company faster than other technology companies did.

Lynch also advocated for Adobe the need for multiplatform development and responsive product design. Thanks to him, Adobe has done a lot for the release of full-featured products on mobile devices, including Adobe Photoshop Touch for iPad and Photoshop Touch for iPhone.

Apple made no secret of what the cloud considers the future center of the user's universe. Introduced at WWDC in 2011, iCloud was supposed to be just such a hub for the Apple ecosystem. The company has taken some steps to do this, making it possible to synchronize information and media on iOS and OS X via iCloud. However, at the same time, Apple is constantly faced with complaints about the performance of iCloud and iTunes Match.

Apple’s senior vice president, Eddie Q, is currently responsible for iCloud. Prior to that, he worked on the MobileMe predecessor service, whose reputation was even worse. It is likely that Q can benefit from the support of veterans of cloud services to eliminate the disadvantages of iCloud.

As reported, Lynch, as vice president of technology, will report to Apple's senior vice president of technology, Bob Mansfield. Mansfield is engaged in wireless and semiconductor technologies, but the title of his position gives him more freedom to act. So if Apple plans a big cloud breakthrough, then Lynch could be a good candidate.
