NASA again calls on all concerned to participate in the development of open source solutions for the problems that the space agency is facing in space and on earth. Registration for the Space Apps Challenge, which will be held April 19-21, is already open.

Last year, the Space Apps Challenge took place in 25 cities, where everyone could join the development of programs and apply their imagination and talent to the benefit of humanity. It was attended by over 2,000 people who created 101 open source projects for NASA and partners.
This year, the Space Apps Challenge will be held in 75 cities, 41 countries (as NASA itself writes - 75 Cities, 41 Countries, 1 Planet).

Unfortunately, there are no Russian cities in the list, but there is a possibility of Virtual participation, work through the Network.
The tasks to be solved are divided into four categories: Soft, Hard, Civil science and Data visualization. In the software category, you can find, for example, the creation of a mobile version of NASA GIRLS (Giving Initiative and Relevance to Learning Science), a meteor tracker, a game to develop the lunar base, or the definition of stars in images taken from an international space station.
