Microsoft has published a list of changes in Vista SP1 RC

According to the already established tradition, the operating systems from Microsoft without a couple of service packs, if not dangerous for PCs, are simply unstable and full of bugs. The same, for obvious reasons, applies to the "new" Vista. It is possible that the release of Vista SP1, scheduled for the first quarter of 2008, will improve the situation. But before the final release is still far away. So while Microsoft is offering to study the list of changes that will be made by the public beta of Vista SP1 Release Candidate, which is rumored to be released at the end of December.

Among the “notable changes”, it is worth highlighting improvements in application compatibility, security, PC management, support for new technologies and standards, improved performance and improved power management. But in general, the list is gigantic. On the Microsoft website, you can download several text files (up to 1.5 MB in total), a sort of document pack for the service pack, called Windows Vista SP1 Guides for IT Professionals. So, as noted successfully on Engadget, if you have a couple of days of free time, you can spend them on studying this guide.
