Twitter deleted a user account from Russia at the request of Roskomnadzor

At the request of Roskomnadzor, the administration of the popular microblogging service Twitter has deleted an account that reportedly advertised the distribution network of narcotic substances. About this Twitter today notified Roskomnadzor.

According to Roskomnadzor , the Twitter administration is already actively involved in cooperation with the Register of information prohibited for distribution in Russia. Since the beginning of March this year, the administration of the popular microblogging service has restricted access to five information materials in Russia at the request of Roskomnadzor. Two of them - for promoting the spread of drugs, three - for the promotion of suicidal feelings.

In particular, in one of the entries, also included in the black list, belonging to the authorship of one of the editors of " Tapes.ru ", says: "Friends, commit suicide, it's fun," and also contains an indication that the author of the tweet "tried" and "Liked", so he "will try again." When switching to a remote tweet, the message “Tweet Removed” is displayed.

Negotiations between Roskomnadzor and the popular social network Twitter to implement the latest decisions about blocking the blacklisted materials have been conducted since the first links to tweets appeared in the registry last November. It is reported that the negotiations were complicated by the absence of the Twitter administration’s practice of interacting with foreign authorities regarding the removal or restriction of access to the content that they declared “illegal”. In addition, Twitter’s lack of a Russian representative office also hindered - all negotiations were conducted by correspondence. Nevertheless, having conceded to the requirements of Roskomnadzor, Twitter agreed to censor materials for Russian IP-addresses that fall into the Roskomnadzor registry.

UPD: For those who do not understand: deleted (according to Roskomnadzor) account that advertised the network for the distribution of drugs, and the journalist "Tapes.ru" blocked only tweet (obviously, for Russian IP).
