Microsoft vs optical media?

Michael Bay, director of Transformers, Armageddon and others, made at least a strange statement in which he claims that Microsoft benefits from the war on HD DVD and Blu-ray formats and, moreover, the corporation is interested so that optical media are not used, and instead the whole world would go to digital download.

He also added that this is a dirty secret, which no one talks about, but Microsoft’s bribe of $ 100 million, designed for studios ready to support the HD DVD format, to prevent Blu-ray from winning, is proof of that. According to Michael Bay, Microsoft intends to restrain the development of the market for high-capacity optical media until a system for selling digital video has been developed and debugged.

The director added that he would like people to watch movies in both HD formats, and not in one that benefits publishers.
