It seems that a patent troll may soon appear in Ukraine, and not a company, but an individual. One of the residents of Lviv received a patent for an industrial design of a tablet computer. At the same time, the patent was duly
executed through the Ukrainian Institute of Industrial Property.
The first media to report on such a significant event was the Ukrainian newspaper
Nashi Groshi . According to the authors of the publication, the recipient of the patent now has the right to demand a remuneration from manufacturers of planets. And indeed, judging by the
procedure for protecting the rights to this intellectual property, now a Lviv citizen has the opportunity to demand his share of the cake from tablet PC manufacturers who sell their products in Ukraine.

By the way, the Ukrainian received a patent for three industrial designs of tablet PCs at once, and not for one. And his brother received a patent for ... a screw. Yes, the usual screw that never seems to have been patented by anyone.
Of course, the chance of receiving money from Apple, Samsung or any other manufacturer of tablet PCs from the patent holder is minimal. But there is such a chance, and the patent holder can sue without problems. Of course, lawyers working for technology giants have already eaten a dog at such processes, as they say. But the likelihood of winning the holder of a patent for an industrial design is still there.
