Cisco Systems will buy Arroyo Video Solutions for $ 92 million

Cisco Systems has signed a binding agreement to acquire Arroyo Video Solutions , which is considered to be the leading provider of new generation of on-demand television services and other subscriber solutions. Under the terms of the agreement, Cisco will pay Arroyo about $ 92 million in cash. The companies plan to complete the transaction by October 31, 2006.

Arroyo solutions are a platform for video-on-demand services and services that will show TV programs with a time shift. Integration of the Arroyo platform into the Cisco IP-NGN architecture will accelerate the development of entertainment network content, interactive services and advertising applications and facilitate their delivery to the TVs, personal computers, mobile phones and other user devices with access to the network.

Upon completion of the transaction, Arroyo specialists together with their products and technologies will be part of the camera department of the Cisco Cable and Video Solutions Group (Cable & Video Initiatives Group) and will work under the guidance of Michelangelo Volpi.
