On February 20, a large cloud-based
Windows Azure Summit conference was held in Moscow, during which conference participants listened to more than twenty technical and business reports.

The themes of cloud computing and the Windows Azure platform are in great demand today, so we had to close the registration for the conference a few months before it began. In total, about 600 people came to the event and more than 21,000 people watched it online.

In this post, I would like to recall how the conference took place and tell those who were and who were not lucky enough to be at the Digital October site on the day of the Windows Azure Summit.
First, a short video about “how it was” (the video
is available here in any format):
Almost any technical conference begins with a plenary report or as we call it a kinaut (keynote). The
winners of the Windows Azure Summit were: Alexander Lozhechkin, Director of Strategic Technologies at Microsoft Russia, Dmitry Marchenko, Head of Business Development for Application and Cloud Services Partners, Natalya Yefimtseva, Technology Experts, Sergey Pugachev, Vladimir Yunev, and our partners from
Play .
A cool video from our partners, Smeshariki, who use Windows Azure for their projects, opened the plenary report:
You can watch
it here in any format .

The audience watched the plenary report not only in the main hall, but also on plasmas throughout the venue, including in a special separate hall. In addition, thousands of people watched us online, not only from Russia, but also from other countries.

After the plenary report, the main program of the conference began, which consisted of four parallel tracks of reports and round tables on technical and business topics around cloud technologies and the Windows Azure platform.
I am pleased to announce that all the reports of the conference were broadcast online and recorded. Records in raw form were available immediately after the conference and the processed versions are
already available on TechDays.ru.

One of the key speakers at the conference was Nick Harris, who works as an expert on Microsoft web development and cloud technologies in the United States. Within the Windows Azure Summit, Nick Harris read four in-depth presentations to the developers who received the highest marks at the conference.

An interesting experiment for us was the Skype session of Nathan Totten (Nathan Totten), who (because of the visa) could not come in person, but spoke online. We were worried about this session, but it went very smoothly and fun:

Already in the morning, many participants were happy to take pictures separately or together with the girls who represented our conference (all other photos you can find in
our group on Facebook ):

On the sidelines of the conference were interviewed with the organizers, participants, speakers, partners and experts of cloud technologies:

In the corridor there was a stand with the ability to record and publish a video with his review of the Windows Azure platform:

Our favorite partners were presented in the conference hall with whom the conference participants could discuss any questions:

And finally, a photo of some guys from the team that made the Windows Azure Summit:

Instead of conclusion
We received and processed hundreds of questionnaires. And we are very pleased with the outcome of the conference: judging by your feedback, the conference was a success. We will definitely take into account all your comments and suggestions in order to make the next conference even better.
Thank you for participating, come to us next time. See you!
