Two students managed to gain access to the billboard computer at a crowded square in the center of Belgrade, Serbia. For some time, the Pirate Bay emblem glowed on the shield with a quote from Gandhi “At first they don’t notice you, then they laugh at you, then they fight with you. And then you win. ” The people responsible for the trick claim that the hacking was done only to demonstrate how little attention is given to IT security.

Pirate Bay is known for its love of technical games, as it was this week - What did happen with TPB (the article about the “relocation” of TPB servers to North Korea).

With the same intentions was this hacking.

Dressed in the appropriate T-shirt, the guy with the words ““ Keep Calm and Seed ”took out his smartphone and started playing Space Invaders with his classmate, right on the billboard. After that, they displayed several different messages on the screen, including “hacked4fun”.

Initially, the media attributed hacking “Anonymous” (it turns out, not only we have problems with the media), but later the guys said on their YouTube channel that they have nothing to do with them.

“We are not members of any hacker organizations, and this clip is proof that - we do not want and should not be anonymous,” they write.

PS My thoughts were that the hacking could not be complete, but they broke down a NAS or another server, from where the videos for broadcasting come from. And pre-assembled movie with the game in Space Invaders, etc. for a good show. And maybe they didn’t break anything at all, they just bought time (everything was too smooth on the screen), although there were already precedents with a “folding” on the screen video on the billboard.
