I have always been sure that mobile operators store sent / received SMS for some time. But this confidence was theoretical. Today I was once again convinced.
At first, when I stumbled upon the following, my reaction was “what the fuck ?!”. But then, while writing the text, I calmed down a bit and realized that someone would need the service.

Why do you need remote SMS?

You accidentally erased SMS in the phone. Maybe there was important business information, maybe it was SMS, which is dear to you as a memory. Or maybe your wife’s phone is in front of you and you wonder what SMS she erased from him?

For this you need the following:

• Access to the cellular with the right SIM card
• Previously connected UMS service
• 5 minutes time

How does it work

I stumbled upon this quite by accident. On December 11 last year, when I first read about UMS, I signed up for this service just for the sake of interest. I played a little with Flash-sms and forgot about it. Today there was a need to send Flash again, I went to the ums interface and ... saw ALL my SMS correspondence from December 2012 until today. And from that time on, I sent and received messages only to the phone. Since then, I have changed 3 devices, a lot of firmware, i.e. It's not about any service installed in the OS.

How to connect / disconnect?

You can connect and disconnect the service through the service guide or by calling the Call Center. The service is called - UMS (Change Service Set-> Popular Services-> UMS). It clings when registering with the UMS web interface.

On the other hand, I was always sure that if I deleted the SMS from the device, only the competent authorities can read it (and the spam that comes to me is not interesting for them). Plus, there is stored sensitive information - sms from a mobile bank, indicating the balance on the account.
