Japan invests 5 billion yen to develop a new search engine
The Japanese government intends to invest in 2007 5 billion yen ($ 1 - 116.5 yen) to develop a new Internet search engine. Development of the system should take about 3 years, Itar-Tass reported, citing Japanese media.
A feature of the new search engine will be its compatibility with digital television, that is, it will be possible to “sit on the couch” using the usual TV remote to go online and search for information on the topic that is interested in the program. In addition, the new Japanese system will be available for motorists who use navigation devices. In particular, they will be able to receive data from surveillance cameras at parking lots in order to search for a parking place via the Internet.
