Debian Linux port to Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (with stylus support)

As you know, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is a fairly powerful tablet, with a 4-core processor and a display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels. There is also a stylus, which some users like very much. In general, the tablet can clearly work with desktop OS. The developer from the Xda-developers forum decided to port Debian to this device, and gradually realizes his idea.

Now the system is already working on the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but, of course, part of the hardware is not yet supported. This applies to the GPS module, camera and a couple of things. But WiFi, Bluetooth, sound, touchscreen - it all works. The stylus also works, it can be clearly seen on the preview image.

The developer has created a dual boot configuration, so that you can work in the Android environment, when you are tired of digging through the Debian port. By the way, our hero uses an on-screen keyboard to enter text, but it’s clear that the Android keyboard is clearly more convenient. On the other hand, there are still several months of work ahead, so Exception13 (such a nickname from a comrade on Xda-developers) plans to create a comfortable environment for working in the Debian tablet version.

The developer claims that even now the “tablet” can be used as a powerful designer tool, a graphic tablet. After all, all Debian software tools work, plus a stylus is supported. As a result, the craftsman is already working in the GIMP environment, plus he uses a word processor for handwriting recognition.
