Good news for developers of mobile applications for the Android platform. In the cloud platform of
Windows Azure Mobile Services , instrumental support for Android has been added to the existing support for Windows 8, Windows Phone and iOS. The released Android SDK is open source and
is available on GitHub along with all other SDKs.
Now, Android application developers can use Windows Azure Mobile Services to get support for the following functions for free (up to 10 mobile applications) and without investing in their own infrastructure:
')
- access to relational storage with dynamic data schema;
- integrated authentication system based on Microsoft Account, Facebook, Google and Twitter;
- push notifications for your Android applications (and all other platforms at the same time);
- sending SMS and email messages from the cloud via the SendGrid and Twilio services;
- cloud scaling from free to high loads
Using Windows Azure Mobile Services today, you can get a single cloud backend to support all popular mobile platforms without infrastructure investments for the fastest possible start and subsequent scaling.
