While progressive humanity is following the Google Glasses project, the Germans rolled out their augmented reality glasses at CeBIT 2013. Big, scary, uncomfortable, but interesting.
While this is a prototype - a demo sample showing technology. The device consists of two parts: the actual glasses and a separate arm with a translucent screen. In the glasses themselves there are already three cameras. One is looking forward. The other two look at the eyes and catch the reflections of the infrared emitters installed from the surface of the eyes installed here. Due to this, the glasses know exactly where the person is looking. And they can display a hint for this object.
The manufacturer (SensoMotoric Instruments) so far does not even think about competing with Google Glasses, because his glasses are wildly expensive now. He hopes that museums will pay attention to them, for example. Characteristics of points are:
Weight: 75 grams
Dimensions: 173 x 58 x 168 mm
Suitable head sizes: 138-180 mm
Accuracy of determining the direction of gazing: 0.5 degrees
