Good day. This post does not allow not only national discord, but also does not welcome a huge number of holivars “Only Stalin, only Linux”, or “your Linux is no good”, it is much more interesting to know your opinion about the new mobile OS from Canonical. Be carefull.

2012-2013 rich in the emergence of new operating systems for mobile devices (the tablet is also a mobile device!). And it’s not a secret for anyone that everybody's beloved company Canonical, which has been releasing everyone’s favorite Linux distributions Ubuntu since 2004, has let Ubuntu into the “production” for phone and tablets. I still do not understand what the official name of the platform is, since “Ubuntu for phones” and “Ubuntu for tablets” sound like something negligent, so I will call Ubuntu Touch OS to make it clearer.
Note : by the way, do not confuse the Ubuntu for Android project with the Ubuntu Touch.Ubuntu for Android suggests the possibility of running a full-fledged Ubuntu on a powerful Android smartphone that has a monitor connected to it.[ link ]
I installed Ubuntu Touch on Nexus 10 using Windows, using this guide [ link ]. Perhaps someone will come in handy.
It all got up from the first time and it started too without problems. About what the user meets Ubuntu and what makes him happy, you can see in the video. In the text, it is more interesting for me to tell about some unlisted facts in the video.
First, the browser, which is not yet possible to use, gives these results in the html5test.com test.
Secondly, Ubuntu Touch eats the battery very briskly, so the tablet is discharged after 5-6 hours of use. But it’s absolutely impossible to take this fact into account, since this is the DP version and what will be the official release is still worth seeing.
Now Ubuntu Touch works terribly, but everything is beautiful. I think Canonical went the right way, focusing first on the visual component. Despite all the crashes and brakes, I want to use Ubuntu. I also like navigation: this is a kind of cross between Kindle Fire, Windows RT and Android, and the design is made in the best traditions of iOS.
It is not clear how the application store will work, or how Ubuntu Touch will interact with third-party applications that already exist on the Desktop version of the operating system. I also did not find the console.
