Don Field
Senior Director, Product Management, Microsoft LearningDon Field leads a team of professionals who develop technical (on server systems and applications) and custom (on Office products) Microsoft certifications, instructor-led training courses, self-learning e-Learning courses, and Microsoft Press products. Don Field is responsible for the global development strategy for these products, the definition of product requirements, pricing, brand promotion, research on customer preferences, as well as the development of new business models in training and certification.
Microsoft's Microsoft Learning is responsible for developing the training and certification of IT professionals, developers, and students in the world to help them gain in-depth expertise in Microsoft technologies and, through this, ensure the effective deployment and use of Microsoft products.
Prior to joining Microsoft, Don was the Senior Director of Educational Services at 3Com, where he led the training and certification of sales managers, partners and customers around the world. Prior to 3Com, Don was Director of Career Certification at Cisco (Director of Cisco Career Certifications), where he was responsible for the development of certification, technical training and online training for customers, partners and employees of Cisco in the world.
Earlier, Don held various positions in the field of marketing and product management at Apple, including several top-level positions in the company's educational business. He began his career with selling security products to Wall Street Bank.
Don received an MBA degree at Stanford University (Stanford) and a degree in economics from Princeton University. He also served on the Board of Editors of Certification Magazine.
