"Monolith" on 1 TB from LaCie

LaCie , whose worthy products have repeatedly attracted attention, has released a drive with a more than interesting design. In contrast to the ambiguous and blatant appearance of the “Golden HDD” , the new drive (with the unrealistic name LaCie Hard Disk ) is an example of minimalism and solidity.

Designer Neil Poulton, who worked on Hard Disk, did his best: the device is a black rectangular monolith with a brilliantly matt surface (the fingers will probably remain on it) and an elegant blue backlight on the front panel. The power button, USB 2.0 port, power and cooler grill are on the rear panel and, of course, not noticeable; so these elements do not spoil the overall appearance of the device .

LaCie Hard Disk will be available from January 2008, and will cost from $ 119 (for the younger, 320-gigabyte model), up to $ 399 for a device with a capacity of 1 TB.
