For the first time, this happened on December 25, 2012, when Russian Wikipedia reached the sixth position in the ranking by the number of articles. But on January 7, 2013, the Spanish section shifted the Russian-language to the seventh position. Botozalivka helped. But Russian Wikipedia has the strength to fight.
Also among the latest news is the creation of a 950,000 article (January 7), reloading the edit counter for 60 million (February 16) and registration (February 19) of the one millionth participant (for information, only 7 language sections were able to overcome such a milestone).
