I want to share another interesting video that recently came off the Alconost conveyor.
This time we talk about a surgical micromachine, which allows cleaning blood vessels from cholesterol deposits in a non-surgical manner. The principle of operation of the micromachine is under the cut.
The micromachine is inserted into the femoral artery and travels through the blood vessels to the affected area. Thanks to miniature cameras, the surgeon can visually monitor the process of progress.
When the machine reaches the affected area, the vessel is sealed with special cylinders above and below the surgical site. If necessary, the blood is pumped out and the vessel is filled with saline.
Then, physical removal of cholesterol takes place with a cutter designed to grab and grind only soft deposits, and leave the vessel walls intact. For different types of deposits there are different types of cutters.
When the removal of sediment is complete, the solution is pumped out of the blocked area, the sealing cylinders are removed and the vessel is filled with blood.
The micromachine is intended for single use only. The cost of the device is assumed to be low, accessible to the ordinary person.
I hope that in the near future such micromachines will appear in every health care institution, and the procedure of mechanical cleaning of vessels will be as common as brushing your teeth in the morning.

UPD: Judging by the comments, it is necessary to separately note that the machine is not autonomous. It is introduced and brought into the body with the help of a special cable-cable, through which information is transmitted from the cameras, control signals are sent, saline is injected and crushed cholesterol plaque is pumped out.
