Picnik photo editing tools are built into
Flickr photo
service . A “Edit photo” button has now been added above each photo in the album.
With this button, a simple but quite functional photo editor is launched (the
online demo does not require registration). Here are the features available in the free version:
• manual and automatic change of brightness and contrast, including separately in shadows and light areas or within a selected area, as well as by the histogram;
')
• saturation filter and the overall temperature of colors, including one click of the mouse on the color sample, which is taken as the average;
• sharpness filter with radius and force parameters;
• elimination of the red-eye effect by pressing the pupil;
• several dozens of artistic effects, tools for drawing shapes and text, adding frames.

The developers of the Flickr service
emphasize that creating their own photo editor is a bad way for them. Everyone should specialize in their business, which is why they decided to choose someone else's software, especially since they had been watching Picnik for a long time and from the very beginning understood the enormous potential of their cooperation. It was possible to agree only now.
The Picnik / Flickr system works in much the same way as all other third-party services based on the
Flickr API , that is, they are tightly integrated, do not require additional authorization or installation of any software on the computer.
