PDF is now an international standard.

Now PDF 1.7 has officially become the international standard ISO 32000. Adobe has reported in its corporate blog that the international organization for standardization (ISO) has approved this format - 13 out of 15 states voted for the adoption of PDF 1.7 by the international standard.

Among the countries that approved the format without any comments were Australia, Bulgaria, Spain, China, Poland, Ukraine, Sweden, South Africa and Japan. For standardization of the format, but with recommendations and suggestions, were made by the United Kingdom, Germany, USA and Switzerland. The number of such comments amounted to 205 pieces, which Adobe will take into account. As a result, only two countries distinguished themselves: the representative of our Motherland abstained, and the representative of France decided to vote against format standardization.

The total percentage of non-negative votes was 93.3%, although in order to make a positive decision, it was necessary to collect 66.7%. Congratulations to Adobe, which developed this cross-platform electronic document format and achieved its standardization.
