Physicists from the Naval Research Laboratory of the United States (Naval Research Laboratory)
announced the most important achievement in the field of spintronics, the science of the transmission of information through the backs of electrons.
Scientists managed to achieve complete control over the electron spins in the n-type silicon layer. As it turned out, using a pair of magnetic contacts constituting the Fe / Al
2 O
3 tunnel barrier, these spins in the substance can be modulated and detected after transmission. The silicon layer serves as a transport for data transmission. Theoretically, this invention could be the basis for next-generation transistors, which will be much more efficient than the existing ones.

The results of their research were summarized by the scientists in the paper “Electrical Injection Transport Systems”, which was
published in the journal Applied Physics Letters.
