Mozilla introduced the commercial version of Firefox OS and plans to promote its OS

Today, February 24, the Mozilla Foundation gave a preview of the commercial version of Firefox OS, and also outlined plans to promote this mobile operating system. This was done before the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, but for the MWC it was left to tell, including the characteristics of the first devices based on Firefox OS (by the way, journalists managed to photograph the characteristics of one of the smartphones). So, the first wave of Firefox devices will appear in Brazil, Colombia, Hungary, Mexico, Montenegro, Poland, Serbia, Spain and Venezuela. Other markets will also be involved, but after a while.

With the Mozilla Foundation on the promotion of devices based on Firefox OS cooperates 17 key telecom operators. These are América Móvil, China Unicom, Deutsche Telekom, Etisalat, Hutchison Three Group, KDDI, KT, MegaFon, Qtel, SingTel, Smart, Sprint, Telecom Italia Group, Telefonica, Telenor, TMN and VimpelCom. In general, telecom operators expressed their full support for the Mozilla initiative, since the new OS is open, mutable and free. Due to this, telecom operators will be able to adapt the OS to their needs without any problems, add software and services.

As for the "iron" issue, that is, the production of devices based on Firefox OS, Mozilla works with Alcatel (TCL), LG and ZTE. In this case, the first versions of devices are ready, the preliminary versions of which were demonstrated earlier. According to the developers, users will like the devices, as they will work quickly, providing full access to the Network, and integration with network applications. Actually, such integration can hardly surprise anyone, but still the new OS can really attract all those who have become accustomed to the main mobile platforms, including iOS and Android.

The full text of the press release can be found here , where information is also available for each of the participants and partners of the Firefox OS project.

As for the first devices based on Firefox OS, the characteristics of one of them are photographed by an anonymous source who provided information to the Engadget resource.

Presumably, the "leak" in this case is no different from similar "leaks" with new devices from Apple and Samsung. It remains only to be surprised that no one has yet forgotten the new Firefox-smartphone in the bar.
