All habralyudi know what a barcode. Many of you have heard about the popular technology of radio tags (RFID - radio frequency identification). Developed and received a special two-dimensional matrix barcode (Data Matrix).
That's about the last and I want to talk separately.
A sample of the matrix barcode is shown in the picture:

Some are familiar, is not it?
Now I will tell you how this encoding can be applied in the lives of geeks.
For experiments go to the site
datamatrix.kaywa.com ,

we drive in the text and generate the code, for example my favorite “Hello world!”.
As a result, we get a picture with the code:

As you can see, you can generate the website address, text, phone number and SMS.
')
Next, click on the link in the upper right corner and download to the phone (of course with the camera), a program that can read the greeting you just received.
The program is on many models. In order to get it you need to register.

Install the program, run, direct the frame to the code:

and instantly, we get the result:

I identified several possible uses of this technology:
1. avatars on blogs - you can encode an e-mail address, or an ICQ number, I think the spam bot will have to be tight,
2. as an option, you can print such a barcode on a business card - you’ll get a very geek business card,
3. protection against spam bots when registering on sites,
4. various invitation and advertising booklets, announcements, advertising.
In short, a lot of interesting things can be invented.
Try, use.
UPD: To the one who is the first to say what is encrypted in the very first code, I suggest raising karma.
UPD2: A similar thing is for iPhona -
