New trend in phishing - addresses are getting shorter
From the research of ISS, which deals with information security on the Internet, it follows that the Internet addresses used by criminals have recently become shorter. If recently they were usually 30-37 characters long, now there is clearly a tendency to shorten the address, an average length of 17 characters.
According to Ralph Iffert, an employee of the company, a new phishing trick is precisely that using a shorter address than usual does not arouse suspicion of the user and force him to follow the link. As far as they succeed - time will tell.
