Today, NEC and Samsung announced the release of new chips. And both manufacturers confidently declare that their memory is the fastest in the world. However, in the case of the NEC we are talking about memory type NRAM, and Samsung praises its new graphics memory type GDDR5.
To begin with about the product NEC. MRAM is compatible with common SRAM. It can operate at a frequency of up to 250 MHz; The chip density is 1 Mbit, and the sample time is 3.7 ns.

Japanese specialists managed to increase the speed (and it is twice as high as that of the MRAM chips on the market) by using a special electronic circuit.
As for the Koreans, they were marked by the announcement of the release of "the fastest graphics memory GDDR5." The novelty from Samsung is capable of transmitting data at speeds up to 5 Gbps per second, which is almost four times faster than the current performance of the graphics memory used in game consoles.

The new memory from Samsung is designed to work with a voltage of 1.5 V. And this should reduce power consumption by 20% compared to GDDR3. Despite the fact that Samsung plans to begin mass production of this memory already in the middle of next year, GDDR5 will become widely used, according to experts, only by 2010.
