Android 4.2.2 is available for some devices.

Google Inc. has outpaced its own plans for demonstrating the Android OS 4.2.2. Earlier it was planned that this version of the Android operating system will be demonstrated at Mobile World Congress 2013. But the company decided to demonstrate the system earlier, and has already opened access to the update for some devices.

These include, of course, the Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 for WiFi and 3G, as well as the Nexus 10 and Galaxy Nexus. Those users who decided to upgrade the OS on their devices, developers are advised to make a full backup of the data for the previous version, Android 4.2.1. And yes, you can upgrade to version 4.2.2 only from Android 4.2.1.

The update adds nothing new, unfortunately, except for fixing some problems with the performance and stability of the previous version of the system. However, in some cases, the upgrade to 4.2.2 eliminated the ability to work in the LTE networks of some devices (for example, Nexus 4).

Download the image of the finished OS here . It is worth noting that the new version revealed several problems at once, including a vulnerability that opens access to proxy settings for third-party applications. Google developers quickly closed the "hole", but for some applications, the actions taken were fatal.

For example, Adblock Plus completely stopped working after the update, which closed access to the ability to change the proxy settings for all applications. Now the creators of Adblock Plus are working on solving this problem (I mean automatic fixes). You can also manually “revive” Adblock, the guide to action can be found here .
