Pirate Bay threatens to sue right-traders who copied The Pirate Bay website design

Finnish copyright protection organization CIAPK (the very same guys who took the laptop with Winnie the Pooh from a nine-year-old girl ) on February 12 launched a propaganda website imitating the design of The Pirate Bay. Naturally, there are no references to distributions there, and instead of them a page with advertising of official stores opens, where you can buy content. Copyright advocates did not bother with the creation of a similar design: CSS styles are identical to the styles of thepiratebay.se site, only links to pictures differ.



Representatives of Pirate Bay stated that, although they welcome free copying, and their website is completely free and open for personal use, organizations are required to coordinate with TPB administration any use of the site materials. The Pirate Bay considers copyright violation as a copyright protection organization especially unacceptable and outrageous. In the event that CIAPK does not voluntarily stop violating TPB's copyright and does not pay compensation, the Bay lawyers promise to sue. The amount of the claim may be more than 5000 euros.
