Completed a new milestone in the development of UNIX plug-ins after creating the Gtk pluginwrapper for alpha.
As users of builds under UNIX could see, the plugins have been in a very shaky state in the last few weeks - today the work was completed and we can present it - we added support for windowless plugins!
Now we present them for Windows and Mac, but the real step forward for us was to combine the sets of interface elements / development tools and development ?? out-of-process ?? plugins.
Currently, a windowless plugin can use GTK to directly draw on a Qt browser page.
This is still a defective windowless plug-in for UNIX — to activate this experimental plug-in, install a patch for DiamondX:

We will release our own plugin with support for displaying dialogs on top of all browser windows a little later.
Any experimental plugins using this interface will be very interesting to us.

The problem was solved by tricking the plugin. We, like Firefox, announced this to Adobe and are waiting for an updated version of the Flash player.
This “snag” can be turned off by changing the OPERA_PLUGINWRAPPER_NO_SPOOF variable.
We also worked on fixing many other minor bugs, and in the future we are waiting for you to even more bug reports.
WARNING: This is a test build: it contains recent changes, but also has known problems, including situations leading to “crashes” and data loss. In addition, it may not work at all.
