“Faylopomoyki” are gaining popularity

As the pressure on P2P networks from law enforcement agencies and ISPs grows, anonymous file storages, so-called “file dumps,” are becoming increasingly relevant. They are already generating quite serious traffic across the Web. For example, 9% of all Internet traffic in the Middle East and 4.57% of German traffic come from them, according to the latest iPoque statistics . On the diagram, these services are reflected in the “DDL” column (Direct Download Links).



The total number of DDL services on the Internet has already exceeded six dozen. The leader is RapidShare.com, which controls 55% of the market. In second place is MegaUpload.com with 17%.

However, P2P is still the most popular way to transmit information on the World Wide Web, creating the maximum load on international communication channels. BitTorrent and eDonkey dominate P2P technologies (66.7% and 28.59% in Germany).
