The inconsistency of reality in advertising original HP cartridges

Preamble recycling

The issue of recycling waste from office equipment has been around for a long time, but it was only some time ago that was resolved across the country. There are several reasons for imposing tough sanctions on the disposal of used cartridges: environmental pollution, refilling of used cartridges, as well as state control over the circulation of precious metals contained in cartridge chips.

When crushing the cartridges in the crushing and screening complex an explosion occurred due to the fine toner (powder) and as a result - a fire

Cartridges for printing laser printers are quite difficult to process raw materials. For suppliers working in the public sector and firms with huge paper workflow, waste cartridges are a real headache. Since some time, namely since 2006, all state employees have been given a directive ordering not to recycle office equipment, office equipment, the paradox is that they don’t have the right to donate either. Throwing away with the usual garbage is not environmentally friendly and lousy.

These problems were acutely faced by society at the time when laser printers received a powerful impetus to development. Toner cartridges for laser printers contain a large amount of toxic substances that are hazardous to both human health and nature in general. Being sealed in an airtight case, the toner does not fall into the surrounding space, but when refilling or destroying the case it happens that the cartridges cease to be airtight and the toner easily penetrates the atmosphere.

This fact gave rise to great concern among environmentalists, which led to stricter control over the disposal of cartridges. In the end, the largest companies producing consumables for their printers, including HP, announced the creation of programs for the disposal of used cartridges.

The essence of the post

HP currently advertises its original cartridges as follows:

One of the main criteria for the profitability of cartridges is their environmental friendliness due to the declared free certified processing service. Participants are even promised to issue beautiful certificates to program participants.

But the reality is cruel, and in it HP for more than half a year does not keep its own promise, made in actual advertising:

After repeated calls to the HP hotline, the consultants found it difficult to give me an answer when the previously advertised recycling service was put back into operation. At the same time, the boxes with defective and waste cartridges continue to accumulate in my work.

Perhaps this post will warn someone against making the wrong decisions based on the free recycling of printing consumables.
